On November 23, TenCate Protective Fabrics, together with Petrofes Sdn Bhd, organized a seminar at the Empire Brunei Hotel. It was attended by various government ministries and departments, authorities, and the private sector. As the authorized distributor of TenCate Protective Fabrics in the Sultanate, Petrofes Brunei specializes in manufacturing personal protective equipment (PPE) wear worn by Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd, Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd, Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd, and other oil and gas companies. During the seminar, Petrofes Brunei also showcased their wide range of PPE products, particularly the company’s locally manufactured inherent flame-resistant (FR) coveralls, instant tudongs, balaclavas, arm sleeves, and many more products made from TenCate fabrics. Nongluck, TenCate's Product Manager, was on hand to give an overview of the different fabrics produced by the company.
On March 1, 2022, Indonesia held a celebration to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of firefighters. The ceremony was held in Jakarta, Indonesia's capital city, and around 200 people attended. They also held a National Coordination meeting, where they displayed various examples of firefighting equipment in use in Indonesia. Tecasafe® Plus 700 has successfully passed the laboratory test of Wildland Firefighting Clothing standard for Australia and New Zealand, AS/NZS 4824: 2021. This standard specifies the minimum performance requirements for protective clothing designed for use for extended periods of time during wildland firefighting operations.
Wildland firefighting in Australia and New Zealand involves work primarily in summer temperatures, for many hours in which the firefighter can develop high levels of metabolic heat. As a result, the protective clothing needs to be light, flexible, and commensurate with the risks to which the firefighter can be exposed to be effective without introducing heat stress to the wearer.
The standard AS/NZS 4824: 2021 replaces AS/NZS 4824: 2006. Tensile strength, tear strength, and abrasion resistance have all been significantly increased. This proves that Tecasafe® Plus 700 has exceptional performance while also providing comfort and flexibility.
